D-Link ShareCenter+: 4-Bay NAS Cloud Network Storage Enclosure

D-Link Systems Inc. is giving consumers and small businesses reliable access to their information in a compact package, with the launch of the ShareCenter+ 4-Bay cloud Network Storage Enclosure (DNS-340L).

The NAS creates a secure personal cloud that enables users to store, safeguard, share and remotely access or stream their digital documents, music, videos and photos. This can be done from anywhere in the world through the mydlink portal via any web browser or using the free mydlink Access-NAS app.

With four drive bays, supporting 6TB HDDs, the ShareCenter+ 4-Bay can support up to 24TB of storage. This means there is space for videos, photos, music and documents. All this content is easily indexed and organised thanks to the built-in smart library.

The ShareCenter+ 4-Bay offers performance with two GbE ports for data transfer and failover. A USB 3.0 port ensures data transfer from connected USB drives. In addition, the mydlink Access-NAS app supports two-way data syncing, ensuring users have access to the data on their ShareCenter and devices all the time.

Configuration feature, when used in conjunction with a mydlink-enabled router, the NAS will automatically be available on the mydlink app or secure online portal as soon as the device is connected.

Functionality can be extended further through the add-on interface, allowing users to customise the NAS with add-on applications, such as Surveillance Center, making it easy to connect and record video from any mydlink-enabled cameras without complicated setup. Third-party cloud-platforms like Google Drive and Dropbox are also integrated, enabling to recapture, retain and access information locally.

To ensure no data is lost, a range of HDD modes are supported (standard, JBOD and RAID-0, 1, 5, 10, 1+0). A non-expert user can choose the configuration suited to their needs. Data is further protected by the integrated volume encryption. In the event of a drive failure hot-swappable bays allow a failed drive to be replaced without shutting the enclosure down or impacting user access. For small to midsize business, iSCSI support enables the ShareCenter+ 4-Bay to become the centre for business world by consolidating not only all file and print data but also providing a fast, secure, low-cost storage option for business servers and VMs.
