ClearCube Introduced Zero Client Models

ClearCube Technology, Inc. announced two zero client models with three distinct features.

These zero client models with six USB ports integrate the PKI Office approved SIPRNet Smart Card Readers that support 5v, 3v, and 1.8v smart cards including the SIPR hardware token, eliminating the need for separate CAC readers for specific smart cards.

Each has:

An integrated Smart Card Reader for security desktop authentication on the Secret Internet Protocol Routed Network (SIPRNet) and other classified networks that use CAC authentication.
Six USB 2.0 ports
Full power (1 amp) USB support for higher powered USB peripheral devices or to speed up cell phone battery re-charging

The zero clients, CD9924 and CD7924, feature copper network connections and fiber network connections, respectively.

Both are manufactured with solid steel packaging to better support the repeated insertion of CAC cards into the zero clients.

The zero client models integrate the latest SIPRNet Smart Card Reader that has become the PKI Office mandated standard. Zero Clients support 5, 3, and 1.8v smart cards including the SIPR hardware token, eliminating the need for separate USB readers for specific smart cards.

Because the new readers are integrated in ClearCube Desktop Zero Client devices, workspace clutter is reduced and user productivity is enhanced.

Compatible with VMware Horizon View and the PCoIP protocol, ClearCube’s zero clients with SIPRNet smart card readers allow PCoIP pre-session authentication that verifies identity through the PCoIP encrypted protocol.

“Integrating a single smart card reader capable of reading and authenticating smart cards that have a variety of voltages has been requested by many of our federal customers to simplify their security operations,” said Jim Zakzeski, VP sales and marketing, ClearCube.

“In addition, our customers indicated that they want the ability to charge their cell phone battery from their zero client USB ports so these models support a higher amperage which charges phones faster. Although not related to typical zero client operation, it was a nice feature addition that addressed our customers’ requests,” said Zakzeski.

All ClearCube Zero Clients are assembled and tested in the U.S. and are fully TAA-compliant.

CD9724 and CD7724 will be available in production April 2015.
