This feature adds to SEP’s existing support for VMware and provides a component for both existing and future enterprise customers.
SEP’s flagship backup and DR solution, SEP sesam, offers a single backup and DR solution for multi-OS environments of any size, including physical and virtual servers. This functionality for VMware directly communicates with the VMware API and boasts many expanded capabilities including instant VM recovery and change block tracking for full or incremental backups.
“We are excited to present this set of features to the backup marketplace,” stated Richard Yager, marketing director, SEP. “This offering demonstrates our plan to streamline VMware backups and give our customers the latest technology available. Combined with the newest release of our software, SEP sesam v4.4, we are able to offer an enhanced GUI and further customization options to give users even more control of their daily backups,” concluded Yager.
Additionally, Instant VM Recovery for VMware, another feature released in SEP sesam v4.4, eliminates downtime and provides a higher level of BC than previously available. Users are able to instantly restart VMs without having to wait for restores.
SEP’s agentless technology for VMware, Hyper-V, and Citrix automatically displays the virtual hosts/guests in the GUI, simplifying planning, management, and execution of the automated backup processes. Using SEP’s interface in conjunction with Multi-Streaming Technology has enabled SEP to provide the fastest VMware backups in the industry.
