Vembu BDR v2.1 Supports Hyper-V Server Backups
Continuous block tracking technology that completes backups and restores
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on January 22, 2015 at 3:01 pmVembu Technologies, Inc. announced the release of BDR v2.1.
This release provides advanced support for Hyper-V server backups with continuous block tracking technology that completes backups and restores within minutes.
BDR v2.1 includes the ability to perform a 4-tier restore verification.
Whenever a backup job gets completed, BDR v2.1 will run 4 levels of verification:
- Boot check – Boots the full system backups in a hypervisor and takes a screenshot of the login screen
- Mount check – Mounts the backups on disk management to verify that files are intact
- Data Integrity check – Makes sure there is no data loss during transmission
- Data corruption check – Ensures all data are intact and is available for instant restores.
The BDR v2.1 include storage support to GPT HDDs (sizes greater than 2TB), support for restoring image backups as VHDX files and the ability to persistently boot the backup data so that it can actually be used for production. In the event of data failure, there is no need to provide a DR setup. Instead, the backup server by itself will act as a production server.
