Data Dynamics Migratess Multiple Petabytes of Data

Corresponding to hundreds of millions of files to next-gen hybrid and private cloud infrastructure

Data Dynamics, Inc., in storage management solutions for hybrid and private cloud storage environments, has achieved record growth during 2014 as the company’s StorageX platform powers the migrations for multiple petabytes of data, across hundreds of millions of files, for enterprise customers that are moving to next-generation infrastructure.

With a strong and growing ecosystem of channel partners, Data Dynamics achieved more than 95% of its sales during the year via the channel as companies across multiple vertical industries seek automated file storage migration to lower the cost, risk and resources required to migrate to new computing infrastructures, including hybrid and private clouds.

Channel and strategic partnerships remain at the core of Data Dynamics’ growth strategy. Through a number of solution providers and integrators, the company delivered nearly all of its 2014 revenue, demonstrating that it remains committed to the value its channel partners deliver. The company has also achieved several strategic partner relationships. Throughout the year, it saw strong customer adoption across a number of vertical categories. Key markets that have embraced the power of StorageX in their hybrid and private cloud environments include financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, high technology, and media and entertainment.

Key milestones achieved by Data Dynamics include:

  • The launch of StorageX, version 7.5, with new features to provide a unified storage view for the simplified management of large data assets throughout the information lifecycle.
  • Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG) Lab validation of the value of StorageX to minimize manpower, risk and storage migration costs.

According to Brian Garrett, VP, ESG Lab: “Data migrations are expensive. Time is money, and the longer a data migration takes, the more it costs the organization. StorageX automates the process at every phase to greatly reduce the number of human resources needed, the possibility of issues prior to execution, and the amount of time spent throughout the process. Using Data Dynamics StorageX software can save an organization tens of thousands of dollars in operational expenses with each migration project, help users avoid vendor lock-in, and allow the freedom of making a more economical choice when purchasing new hardware.

The company was also recognized during the year with the following accolades:

  • Named a finalist in the 2014 hot companies and best products awards by Network Products Guide.
  • Named a Red Herring 2014 Top 100 global award finalist.
  • Awarded finalist for the storage software product of the year by Data Centre Solutions.

Data Dynamics is a company dedicated to the value of the channel and that partner commitment has resulted in tremendous growth for us,” said Piyush Mehta, CEO, Data Dynamics. “We continue to outperform goals across all industries and regions as the value of StorageX in the areas of migration, DR, replication, reporting and aggregate management continue to deliver the benefits companies require to make the most of their storage investments.

StorageX enables the intelligent management of storage across heterogeneous technologies and platforms through a single management interface for hybrid and cloud infrastructures. It adds additional functionality to Microsoft DFS and centralizes the management of unstructured data across the enterprise. Its latest version also enables Windows-based management for multiple heterogeneous file servers, allowing data migration and consolidation.
