Toshiba Expands Canvio Basics Line With 3TB External Portable HDD

Toshiba’s Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., announced the addition of a 3TB capacity offering to its Canvio Basics storage lineup.

The 3TB Canvio Basics portable HDD can store up to 856,500 digital photos, 789,000 digital music files or 2,460 downloaded digital movies2. As with the rest of the offerings within the Canvio Basics 3.0 line, software setup is not necessary.

“Even as a portable device, consumers are looking for high-capacity options to keep up with their extensive content libraries,” said Maciek Brzeski, VP, branded storage, Toshiba America Information Systems, digital products division. “Our 3TB Canvio Basics provides high capacity storage in a simple solution.”

The 3TB Canvio Basics portable HDD is efficient and easy to use. Consumers can connect the device right out of the box and connect to their PC to begin saving their digital files. The HDD supports USB 3.0, is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and is also equipped with a special internal shock sensor and ramp loading technology designed to keep consumers’ digital files safer against accidental drops.

The 3TB Canvio Basics portable HDD will be available for purchase in March 2015 at various retailers and on toshiba.com/us for $189.99 MSRP.
