Omrin Opts for EMC VSPEX Solution Installed by Proact

Omrin, a trade name of Afvalsturing Friesland NV and NV Fryslân Miljeusustainable and waste collector and processor from Friesland, has chosen Proact IT Group AB for the delivery and implementation of a new EMC VSPEX solution for two locations.

Proact provides a solution, including 24×7 support for hardware and software. Omrin has signed a three-year contract. The complete solution consists of two VNX5200 systems including network components and linkage to/reuse of the existing HP server and VMware infrastructure.

This new platform is based on VSPEX which, in combination with Proact support, ensures a pre-validated, standardised platform that is aligned to, and fits the needs of Omrin with regard to performance, availability, and business agility.

Through the use of, among other things, the Fully Automated Storage Tiering (FAST) concept in combination with flash within the VNX systems, Omrin will benefit from a lower TCO and performance for its business applications and business intelligence environment.
