The NTT Communications company is a provider of collaboration and unified communications services. After collaborating with partner Actualis Center SARL, Arkadin selected the Nexenta solution to meet its expanding enterprise storage requirements.
Founded in France in 2001, Arkadin offers a range of integrated audio, web, video conferencing and unified communications solutions via a network of 53 offices in 32 countries across the globe, delivering its business solutions using a SaaS)model that provides customers with fast, scalable deployments.
With storage requirements at Arkadin’s R&D data center, which holds more than 600 VMs, growing at more than 20% annually, it was important to have an alternative storage solution to support its current capacity and future growth needs. The solution needed to be simple to use and efficient for hosting all of its environments, in addition to delivering optimal performance and resiliency with limited administration at a competitive price.
Arkadin was keen to explore open storage solutions to avoid being locked into proprietary hardware platforms. After exploring alternatives, it selected NexentaStor solution, opting for a an Enterprise Edition license coupled with the NexentaStor HA Cluster option, as well as HDDs from Nexenta partner Super Micro Computer, Inc.
“Working closely with Arkadin we were able to design a solution to match their exact storage requirements,” said Eric Pinatton, CTO, Actualis. “The combination of Nexenta’s scalability and management simplicity coupled with Supermicro hardware gives Arkadin the high-performance storage the business needs. This highly-available storage environment is ideally suited to growing enterprises and we are delighted to be partnered with such a dynamic, industry-leading SDS provider.“
Vincent Thinselin, senior technical architect, Arkadin, said: “Installing an SDS solution from Nexenta has enabled us to address current and future capacity and performance requirements in a cost-effective manner. If additional storage capacity is required, the Nexenta solution can be seamlessly scaled for delivering reliable, uninterrupted service, a key requirement for ensuring an excellent customer experience.“
“As one of the world’s fastest growing collaboration service providers, it is vital that Arkadin’s R&D infrastructure is underpinned by a scalable, reliable storage platform,” explained Mark Jordan, VP and GM EMEA, Nexenta. “Nexenta’s software-defined storage solutions are ideally suited to this type of environment, where mission critical data needs to remain highly available. Our scalable software-defined offering allows our customers to step away from the Massively Expensive Storage Systems (MESS) offered by legacy vendors, and are designed with business growth in mind.“
