Lenovo Group Ltd‘s new software offering with Atlantis Computing, Inc. boosts delivery speed of virtual applications and desktops, delivering increased performance, storage capacity, and cost efficiency

Atlantis ILIO and Atlantis USX address the challenges of transitioning from PC to VDI environment. Implementing the right storage architecture is a challenge to the successful deployment of a virtualized server-based computing environment.

The success of VDI projects begin with the user experience. Users transitioning from a PC to a virtual desktop expect equal or better performance, yet most VDI deployments provide a fraction of the storage performance required per desktop (measured in IO/s and latency). The most critical aspects of user experience such as boot, logon, and application launch and search require vast amounts of storage performance. Often, to lower the cost of VDI, critical features such as desktop and email search are disabled.

Scalability, performance, and cost are storage-related challenges that desktop administrators must face.

Two new software offerings families are now available.

Atlantis ILIO
The product family is designed to be a software solution that changes the way Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp and VMware Horizon (with View) consume storage, reducing storage requirements, and delivering faster, more cost-efficient virtual desktops and applications. Key to the Atlantis ILIO offerings, Atlantis HyperDup Content-Aware Data Services processes all IO on server RAM before it hits primary storage, minimizing IO and reducing runtime storage footprint.

USX for VDI

Atlantis USX is a software solution that is designed to deliver the performance of an all-flash storage array at half the cost of traditional SAN or NAS. Pool any SAN, NAS, or DAS storage and accelerate its performance exponentially, while at the same time consolidating storage to increase storage capacity. Enterprises can meet the performance needs of any application without buying new or faster storage hardware, and transition from costly shared storage systems to lower cost systems and public cloud storage.

Atlantis USX offerings include:

These software are offered with at least one year of maintenance and support required for each license, which includes access to fixes, updates, and phone support directly from Atlantis Computing. Both standard (9:00AM – 5:00PM) and premium (24×7) support offerings are available.

One-year and 3-year subscriptions entitlements are available.

For technical support, patch/security management and software delivery is included for these software offerings.
