Belgian St. Trudo Hospital Deploys PernixData FVP With HP StoreVirtual and Dell PowerEdge Servers

Fo email, file and database performance

PernixData, Inc., in server-side storage intelligence, announced that St. Trudo Hospital, a regional hospital in Belgium, has deployed its FVP software with HP StoreVirtual and Dell PowerEdge servers to optimize the performance of virtualized email, file and database applications.

By implementing a new decoupled storage architecture using server flash with I/O acceleration software, the hospital increased employee productivity through faster access to key patient and administrative data. At the same time, it saved money by avoiding an expensive storage upgrade.

St. Trudo Hospital selected FVP Software for two key reasons. First, the hospital had 40TB of available capacity on their HP array, which meant they did not need to buy more storage capacity. The software enabled to add more storage performance while leveraging the existing investment in capacity. Second, the PernixData solution was easy to install inside the hypervisor, with no changes to applications, hosts or storage.

It was a very simple decision to choose PernixData FVP software,” said Kris Broux, systems administrator, St. Trudo Hospital. “It was seamless to install inside my production network and delivered immediate results with clear price and performance gains. The application performance improvements are like night and day in comparison to before PernixData FVP software was installed.

FVP software virtualizes server flash and RAM into a clustered acceleration tier that enables IT administrators to scale-out storage performance independent of storage capacity. The result is read and write performance for all virtual applications.

I can thoroughly recommend this solution to anyone with similar application performance challenges – you won’t be disappointed,” concludes Broux.
