Nimble Flash CS-Series Arrays Achieve Oracle VM Ready and Linux Ready Status
For mixed workload Oracle environments
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 21, 2014 at 2:42 pmNimble Storage, Inc. announced that its Adaptive Flash CS-Series arrays have achieved Oracle VM Ready and Oracle Linux Ready status through Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), demonstrating that Nimble Storage has tested and supports Adaptive Flash CS-Series arrays on Oracle Linux and Oracle VM.
Nimble addresses the requirement for mixed workload Oracle environments, in which enterprises running both transactional (OLTP) and analytical (OLAP) workloads can experience improvements in application performance and storage capacity. In addition, organizations can help accelerate Oracle application deployments by leveraging Oracle VM templates with Nimble Storage. Nimble is a Gold level member of Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN).
Oracle Linux Ready and VM Ready are part of the Oracle Exastack Ready program which allows partners, such as Nimble Storage to be recognized by Oracle for developing, testing and tuning their applications on the latest component products of the Oracle Exadata Database Machine, Exalogic Elastic Cloud, SuperCluster, Database Appliance or Big Data Appliance engineered systems.
Enterprises are under intense pressure to scale performance and capacity in line with the requirements of business-critical applications – while containing cost and complexity. Nimble has engineered a single flash storage architecture designed to leverage the fast read performance of flash and the cost-effective capacity of HDD drives, a combination suited to demanding Oracle environments. Adaptive Flash platform can help deliver performance and capacity for both OLAP and OLTP workloads. It can enable database administrators and application developers to create full functioning clones of Oracle application data in real time, simplifying the management and deployment of a test and development environment.
“IT organizations are required to meet the needs of business-critical applications, which demand storage that supports mixed workloads. Our Adaptive Flash platform intelligently meets this requirement, while providing benefits such as integrated data protection, easy to deploy testing environments, and seamless capacity and performance scaling. Achieving Oracle VM and Oracle Linux Ready Status is validation that customers can obtain support and optimized performance of the Oracle software stack when running on Nimble Storage,” said Radhika Krishnan, VP, product marketing and alliances, Nimble Storage.
“The Oracle Exastack Ready program enables partners to deploy their applications with a complete, integrated and cloud-ready infrastructure that will help them accelerate innovation, unlock new features and functionality, and deliver faster, more reliable solutions. By achieving Oracle Linux Ready and Oracle VM Ready status, Nimble has established a foundation for their application to efficiently run on and leverage the latest features in Oracle Linux and Oracle VM to deliver superior value to customers,” said Kevin O’Brien, senior director, ISV and SaaS strategy, Oracle
