CalDigit T4 Storage Solution With Thunderbolt2 and RAID-5

CalDigit, Inc. announces that the T4 Thunderbolt2 RAID storage solution is available for pre-order and shipping from November 19th 2014.

The T4 is a RAID-0, 1, 5 and JBOD storage solution that features Thunderbolt2 technology, storage capacities up to 20TB, and speeds up to 1,370MB/s with SSDs. The T4 also features new 5-year warranty.

The T4 is a 4-bay storage device that utilizes the power of Thunderbolt2 technology. The T4 supports RAID-0 for performance, RAID-1 for four automatic backups of user data, RAID-5 for performance/protection, and JBOD for four independent disks.

“Traditional 4-bay storage solutions have a much larger form-factor than the T4. CalDigit’s focus on design and usability has allowed us to create a much more compact storage solution that takes up less space, but still retains extreme performance.“, said Kosta Panagos, director of marketing, CalDigit.

With 3.5-inche HDDs installed, it can achieve speeds of 750MB/s, and with 2.5-inch SSDs installed it reaches extreme performance of 1,370MB/s in RAID-0.

The RAID-5 functionality allows users to  achieve performance and single drive redundancy. The RAID-5 is that it gives users piece-of-mind for their valuable files whilst at the same time allowing for performance.

The T4 also features new 5-year warranty that brings a level support for professional users. Traditional RAID storage solutions offer a 1-3 year warranty.

4K Wokkflow
CalDigit’s investment in Thunderbolt2 has ushered in a era of 4K capable devices, allowing professional users to integrate a powerful 4K workflow. The dual Thunderbolt2 ports allow to connect a 4K monitor as part of the daisy-chain.

Pricing for the T4 starts at $899 in the US, £670.80 (inc. VAT) in the UK, and €850.80 (inc. VAT) RRP in Europe for the 4TB HDD model.
