DVD6C Licensing Group announces settlement of patent enforcement action against World Media Group, Inc.

DVD6C, comprising nine developers of DVD technology, announced that four of its members reached a settlement of a patent enforcement action they had brought against World Media Group, Inc., a DVD disc replicator, and its sales company, Crystal Clear Media Group, LLC.

The four members-Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Panasonic Corporation, Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd. and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Inc. filed their lawsuit in the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division, on April 8, 2014. As part of the settlement, reached on September 25, 2014, World Media Group agreed to enter into a patent license agreement with DVD6C and pay damages for its past infringement.

To maintain a level playing field for DVD6C patent pool licensees, DVD6C members will continue to enforce their patents through litigation against unlicensed companies that manufacture and sell DVD discs.
