Coraid EtherDrive EX With OpenStack Cloud Software Compatibility
Support for Cinder
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 12, 2014 at 2:52 pmCoraid, Inc. presented its recently introduced EtherDrive EX at OpenStack Summit Paris, 3-7th of November in Paris, France.
It is a unified storage solution for block and file storage in massive, multi-petabyte public and private cloud deployments. It provides flexibility that can accommodate the changing workloads of growing companies. It makes drives available on the Ethernet for scaling of storage resources – across the aisle or even across data centers.
Adding storage is as simple as attaching additional EX drives and connecting them using a low latency, high bandwidth data transfer protocol on an Ethernet network.
Coraid’s distributed architecture allows IT managers to independently tune performance, capacity, and availability – based on application requirements – eliminating the need to overprovision.
The company recognizes that interest in OpenStack deployments has increased within cloud service provider and large enterprise communities. As such it is allocating greater R&D resources to support this growth. Their solutions, including the EtherDrive EX support this commitment.
Other highlights include:
- Support for Cinder since OpenStack’s Grizzly release. Coraid’s Cinder driver is also available on the current Juno version.
- Documented best practices that leverage the native Linux LVM or Filesystem Cinder driver.
