Cloud-Based Storage and Archiving Service by Markley Cloud Services

At 1.2 cents/GB/month with unlimited scalability

Markley Cloud Services (MCS) announced a cloud-based storage and archiving service that provides clients with reliability and accessibility, along with the ability to scale to multiple petabytes at an low price point.

The service, MCS Archive, strengthens the company’s flexible, on-demand hybrid cloud computing and storage services.

At a time when organizations are struggling to find storage solutions for large amounts of structured and unstructured data, MCS is providing dedicated and shared archiving service solutions at a cost of 1.2 cents per gigabyte per month with unlimited scalability. Customers can connect at gigabit or even ten gigabit speeds to send and receive as much data as necessary and since ports are unmetered, there are no additional costs for data extraction. This provides savings to companies that would otherwise require large capital expenditures and operating costs to purchase an archiving solution. MCS Archive provides access to stored information withins, compared to other archiving solutions that have retrieval times measured in days.

MCS has partnered with Storiant Inc., provider of long-term storage software for enterprises, to provide bundled services on top of a multi-tenant platform. Together, Storiant and MCS Archive enable customers to control access and monitor usage through a self-service portal.

Companies are continuing to struggle with an increasing volume of data that must be kept for longer periods of time within strict regulatory boundaries. As a result, there is a growing need for a long-term, archival solution that meets those requirements in an efficient and cost-effective manner,” said Jeff Flowers, co-founder and CEO, Storiant. “We are proud that our software is the platform on which Markley chose to build a service to help its customers meet those challenges.

MCS Archive takes responsibility for data archiving, including all the overhead of supporting hardware and software, such as data center space, power and cooling. Customers can use MCS Archive’s backup and archive software on a pay-as-you-go basis and have access to 24/7 support staff. MCS, including MCS Archive, is backed by a 100% SLA.

For those looking to migrate or access their company data frequently, unlimited and robust bandwidth can be purchased at wholesale costs and connected directly to any carrier or enterprise through MCS Connect. In addition to having a connection to Markley Group’s 920,000 square feet of data center space at One Summer Street in Boston, MA, MCS provides second location backup and archiving storage solutions in California and Texas – with the option to store additional copies elsewhere, as needed.

In a space that has historically offered either expensive, non-customizable packages or low end, unreliable services, organizations have been left to find their own cloud-based archiving and storage solutions – many of whom end up building in-house infrastructure that requires costly upkeep and unnecessary IT manpower,” said Devon Cutchins, SVP and CLO, Markley Group. “With MCS Archive, organizations have access to an affordable, enterprise-grade storage solution that delivers unmatched reliability, scalability and performance, ensuring businesses can continue to focus on their core competencies and drive innovation.
