Zerto Brings Enterprise Replication to Hyper-V
Cross-hypervisor replication includes VMware to Hyper-V migration and recovery.
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 5, 2014 at 2:45 pmZerto, Inc. unveils Virtual Replication for Hyper-V.
Zerto Virtual Replication is a hypervisor-based replication solution to offer enterprise DR, data protection and workload mobility for both vSphere and Hyper-V.
The addition of Hyper-V to the list of hypervisors supported by Virtual Replication is a step in the realization of a Cloud Fabric unveiled by Zerto earlier this year. Cloud Fabric enables enterprises to utilize any type of workload on any hypervisor or any cloud, regardless of underlying infrastructure – taking the industry lead in the movement, management and protection of production workloads in the hybrid cloud.
Virtual Replication offers RPO and point in time recovery for multiple-VM, production applications.
Some additional features of Virtual Replication for Hyper-V include:
-
Storage agnostic replication – any storage can be used at the source and target site
-
Hypervisor agnostic replication – Hyper-V to Hyper-V, vSphere to Hyper-V and Hyper-V to vSphere
-
No snapshots – Virtual Replication uses CDP to minimize impact on the production environment
-
Automated orchestration of DR processes – for application consistency
-
Simple management interface – for KPIs and reporting
“Zerto pioneered enterprise replication and recovery in virtualized environments, and is bringing this innovation to Hyper-V customers,” said Ziv Kedem, CEO and co-founder, Zerto. “We’ve learned that many enterprises want to use a hybrid cloud strategy for their production workloads, but struggle with the challenges presented by workload mobility. Zerto cloud Fabric enables both hardware and hypervisor agnostic workload portability, giving service providers and customers the option to choose the IT environment that best fits their business needs.“
Virtual Replication has disrupted the traditional hardware-centric market for DR and migration of applications. More than 700 enterprise customers in 29 countries use Virtual Replication in their production environments to protect, recover and migrate data and production applications.
Zerto has more than 150 cloud providers offering services powered by Virtual Replication.
