The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: “Data storage methods and data storage systems are disclosed. An example method includes detecting a presence of a target device on a port; collecting detailed drive information associated with the target device; and preventing an initiator device from creating an affiliation with the target device until the drive information is collected.”
