Three Compuverde U.S. Patents

Distributed storage, distributed data retrieval and multi-node data maintenance

Global enterprise is seeking storage solutions that can not only scale to support the massive wave data created by the Internet of Things, but can also be accessed from any location in the world.

Compuverde AB announced the further expansion of its patent portfolio with the issuance of United States Patent numbers 8850019 B2, 8769138 B2 and 8843710 B2.

The patents – which cover innovations in distributed storage, distributed data retrieval and multi-node data maintenance – support Compuverde’s standing as a comprehensive software-defined storage solution.
New data retrieval and maintenance capabilities: Compuverde received patents for its method for data retrieval from a distributed storage system, as well as for a method and device for maintaining data in a storage system that comprise a plurality of storage nodes.

  • Distributed storage: A third patent was awarded for a distributed storage system comprising a plurality of storage nodes. The system ensures that data is sufficiently spread to provide efficient and reliable replication of data in case a storage node malfunctions.
  • Patent family expands: Previous patents include those protecting innovations in data migration, self-healing and horizontal scaling of storage nodes.
  • Global patent presence: Compuverde’s patent family has grown to include 13 patents and patent applications in all major global regions, including the U.S., EPO, China, Japan and Eurasia.

Stefan Bernbo, CEO and founder, Compuverde, said: “Rapid technological changes have created a veritable tsunami of data, straining current storage approaches to their limit. To compete in a crowded market, it’s imperative to protect our intellectual property portfolio to be able to deliver a strong and holistic software-defined storage platform. Our latest series of patents underscores our commitment to continuing to find ways to serve enterprises, service providers and telcos with scalable, flexible and low-cost storage.”
