ATP Offers Industrial Grade SLC mSATA mini From 4GB to 32GB

ATP Electronics, Inc. offers a new form factor to its NAND flash product family, the mSATA mini.

It follows the JEDEC specification of MO-300B with half the length of the mSATA modules. This industrial grade, SLC-based product provides remarkable life endurance of more than 1,200TB of total bytes written. The new PowerProtector package guards against the possibility of an unstable power supply. The ATP mSata mini is available in densities ranging from 4GB to 32GB.

The mSATA mini has minimal power usage, small footprint, and fast-boot up. This is advantageous for the major applications of the mSATA mini, such as handheld camera/radio, embedded appliance, digital signage, IPCs, networking, military, and ruggedized PCs.

Data integrity is also one of the most critical factors for these applications. The PowerProtector provides more power for the controller to flush the data into the flash ICs once a power outage is detected, as some data temporarily stores in the SRAM and DRAM of a NAND flash product.

Other firmware features give different levels of power protections, thus ensuring safe storage of critical data in the new product during any power outage scenario.

The product with the PowerProtector package has passed several thousands of power cycles during product qualification processes using ATP Power Cycling Tests.
 
The SLC-based mSATA mini has more than twenty times program/erase life cycles over other MLC flash-based products. It also comes with special real-time Full Disk Encryption (FDE) with Advanced Encryption Standard AES 128/256 bit, a security feature for portable or handheld products.
