Dual controller NVMe SSD storage system with Xeon Processor E5 v3 and 24 Intel SSDs
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 16, 2014 at 3:03 pmAt Intel Developer Forum, Seagate Technology LLC displayed the OneStor XP, a dual controller NVMe SSD storage system.
The IDF demonstration signals the newest addition to Seagate’s portfolio of modular storage enclosures. With multiple configurations compatible with Seagate and Intel SSDs, OneStor XP brings performance and reliability to cloud and enterprise customers.
The OneStor XP solutions utilizes the latest Intel Xeon Processor E5 v3, which boosts performance by up to 50% over previous-generations of Xeon processors with more cores, more cache, higher memory speeds, and virtualization improvements. Its dual controllers are capable of supporting dual Xeon processors, redundant battery backup, flexible I/O options and NVMe SSD technologies to address of the needs of the demanding industry applications.
The IDF demonstration consisted of Seagate’s OneStor XP 2U24 dual controller and NVMe (PCIe Gen3) enclosure housing with twenty-four Intel SSD DC P3700 Series drives. It will demonstrate the sequential read and random read performance of more than 20GB/s through a single controller connected to half the lanes (x2 PCIe) of the SSDs. The demo also utilized Seagate’s ClusterStor OS with Lustre filesystem.
Seagate’s family of OneStor embedded storage platforms are available worldwide.
