C7 Data Centers Launching Cloud Services

Powered by Actifio

C7 Data Centers announced a suite of cloud-based data management services to help its customers ensure application availability and instant data access.

This portfolio of services uses Actifio, Inc.’s copy data virtualization platform to increase the efficiency and security of C7’s backup service offering and to improve DR capabilities including:

  • Application Vaulting – Bandwidth and storage efficient cloud data protection

  • App Recovery Assurance – BC in the cloud with testing automation

  • Cloud On-Ramp Services – SLA-based data migration with zero production impact

  • Application Development In Cloud – Up-to-date virtual copies available in the cloud for accelerated dev/test

The company offer a range of cloud-based capabilities for its local, national and international clients from its Utah data centers to deliver production, DR, cloud, and storage solutions. The newest facility, Granite Point II in Bluffdale, is a tier III data center. This 95,000 foot data center reduces power costs by utilizing ambient air cooling, cold air containment and actuated cooling. It also boasts dense power deployments and monitoring at every level of the infrastructure.

I hear daily the urgent need from businesses across the nation for more efficient storage and data management approaches. We are excited to deliver on this requirement by unveiling our new portfolio of enterprise cloud services – delivering SLA levels not previously available – from a single, simplified data virtualization platform,” said Wes Swenson, C7 CEO. “Because of our customers’ unique security, scale and platform requirements, we’ve partnered with Actifio for its data virtualization platform which easily integrates with our existing architecture for accelerated SLA-based application management. Ultimately this means better services, better resource utilization and better agility.

Actifio virtualizes data as other technologies have virtualized compute and networking, decoupling the management of strategic enterprise data from enterprise infrastructure.

IDC estimates the worldwide market for products and services in this space, which it refers to as copy data management, at $46 billion in 2014.

The cost and complexity associated with managing application data that’s siloed across traditional enterprise infrastructures can limit the ability of individual organizations to recognize additional efficiencies and cost savings while delivering new services to their constituents,” said Ash Ashutosh, founder and CEO, Actifio. “Through this partnership with C7, these same organizations can leverage new Actifio-powered cloud services to improve business resiliency and agility, helping them to quickly meet the need for improved application SLA’s while leapfrogging existing data management tools.
