VTL Software From Indian Firm Quadstor

QUADStor Systems announced its VTL software with integrated data deduplication and remote replication.

For the past year the company has been working over a next line of features for its VTL software and after many months of user testing and feedback, it now officially releases the next edition of the software

Data deduplication
With VTL data deduplication, backup administrators can expect savings in storage costs. With optimizations for backups from many leading backup application software such as NetBackup, NetWorker, Tivoli Storage Manager, CommVault, Veeam etc. and inline data deduplication, data deduplication is immediate, high in performance and with lots of space savings.

DR
This release integrates VTL replication allowing for manual and policy based replication to another VTL system for DR. Additionally the ability to export virtual tapes to physical tapes allows for archival of data without the intervention of the backup software.
