The SSD wrk, using SATA 3.1 6Gb/s interface, which is compatible with older computer set-ups and OSs. It uses the SMI 2246EN controller and the case is made of quality, matt black anodized aluminum, housing custom packed MLC from Micron. Durability is guaranteed by the MTBF of at least 2 million hours. Reliability is also provided by the integrated EDC and ECC error correction capabilities. With a thickness of 7 mm, the SSD wrk fits into the tight notebook or desktop case.
Three-year warranty
The wrk is equipped with additional overvoltage and ESD protection features. Overload protection, TRIM and EMS protection are standard in all models. The read speed is up to 563MB/s, sustained writing speed up to 450MB/s. It delivers 72,000 IO/s and the access time is less than 0.1 milliseconds. Customer security is provided by the three-year warranty.
Focus on energy efficiency
In the design and development process of the SSD wrk a major focus was set to minimize energy consumption and to achieve a high efficiency – a characteristic which makes the wrk a choice for mobile devices. In idle mode the SSD wrk requires only 0.25W (128 GB), the maximum energy consumption of the biggest current capacity of 512GB is 2.98W. The 128GB version requires under full load 1.97W.
The wrk can be purchased in capacities of 128GB ($99.99/£59,96), 256GB ($159.99/£99,96) and 512GB ($299,99/£191,63). All prices ex. VAT.
Access to the PSP (Personal Support Portal)
Angelbird offers its customers the opportunity to register for the Customer Portal PSP via the serial number of their device. It provides information such as the remaining warranty period. In addition, the PSP offers free downloads of versions of current programs. The software is expanding with new titles and technical assistance will also be offered in the near future via the PSP. Warranty or repair cases can be handled entirely on the portal.
