Avnet Technology Solutions Distributing Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform

Avnet Technology Solutions, an IT solutions distributor and operating group of Avnet, Inc., announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Nutanix, Inc.

Under this agreement, Avnet will provide its channel partners in the US and Canada with the Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform, which partners can use to design and develop converged compute and storage infrastructure for virtualized data centers.

With Avnet’s supporting resources, partners can use Nutanix’s technology and web-scale infrastructure to solve their customers’ business challenges related to data center virtualization, DR, desktop virtualization, and testing and development.“

Avnet serves as a single-source distributor for building and deploying cost-effective data center solutions using technologies from brands, such as VMware.

The Virtual Computing Platform will complement this portfolio by offering partners a converged infrastructure option that consolidates the server and storage tiers into a single, integrated appliance. With this platform, Avnet’s partners can offer their enterprise and government agency customers solutions based on a web-scale architecture, an approach to designing, building and managing data center infrastructure pioneered by web companies and cloud providers such as Google, Amazon and Facebook. End customers will be able to deploy and scale data center infrastructure, reduce the cost and complexity of storage, and integrate the Nutanix platform with legacy components to maximize existing IT investments.
