Missouri State Courts Selects HP

Backuping 13TB of case management data, court and working documents, and emails

HP Autonomy announced that the Missouri State Courts has completed the statewide deployment of HP Data Protector, HP Autonomy’s enterprise backup and recovery solution, and HP StoreOnce Backup to protect critical case management data.

Missouri State Courts

The Missouri State Courts manage more than one million cases each year, with approximately 5,000 judicial employees accessing this information daily. Protecting this data is critical to ensuring operational continuity by eliminating data outages since loss of information could be catastrophic for Missouri’s judicial system.

Today, over 40 Missouri courts are using HP Data Protector, in conjunction with HP StoreOnce, to backup 13TB of data consisting of case management data, court and working documents, and emails.

HP Data Protector provides a modernized backup environment featuring HP’s next generation adaptive backup and recovery which enables an organization to manage operations from a single console. This new level of intelligent manageability has reduced the Missouri State Courts’ backup work load by nearly half.

Being a very small group, the Missouri Courts data center staff don’t have a lot of man hours to deal with backup issues. With HP they’ve seen reductions in backup and restore windows, both of which have been cut down from hours to minutes.

The Courts have also seen a seven-fold reduction of backup storage required thanks to HP StoreOnce storage virtualization technology and fast, reliable deduplication. HP Data Protector and HP StoreOnce systems are built on the same common core technology, enabling users to manage, monitor, and control backup and recovery from a central administrative console.

HP Data Protector’s scalability and seamless integration with HP StoreOnce enables customers to deliver high-performing backup and recovery with adaptive intelligence, making backup smarter and more efficient,” says Stephen Spellicy, senior director, product management, HP Autonomy. “This is particularly helpful for organizations like Missouri State Courts who see tremendous growth in distributed big data.

With HP Data Protector, the Courts have now moved from a legacy backup solution that delivers simplicity, reliability, and robustness.
