brinell Private Cloud on HDD Up to 240GB
Wireless storage extension to go without Internet
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on August 6, 2014 at 2:50 pmEveryone is talking about the cloud. But without an internet connection and without electricity, the user is truly left standing in the fog. Therefore, Brinell GmbH, the Karlsruhe design and engineering studio, developed Private Cloud.
It enables the user to access their cloud even if there is no internet connection and – with its battery pack – regardless of whether an electric outlet is available. The removable brinell stick is integrated into the device. The stick provisions the stored data as an entirely personal cloud. Using a smartphone, tablet, laptop or smart TV you can always access the stick via a secure wireless connection, instead of using public internet.
Beyond this, the device also has a USB port for charging mobile end devices. The design of the Private Cloud is anything but foggy. Distinct forms and high quality surfaces give the device the typical style of brinell.
For smartphones and tablets, Private Cloud offers storage expansion up to 240GB for the storage of all types of files – everything from text documents to pictures as well as music and videos. The housing is designed in a metallic-look which is also reflected in the design of the stick through hand-made trims made from Makassar ebony, Nappa leather (brown, black or white) or with a carbon look. The designs are precisely aligned to the matching brinell single-action stick, which can be perfectly inserted into its plug-in slot.
“With the brinell Private Cloud, we have again combined the most modern data technology with our classic and high-quality design. Thus, we offer the possibility to access high data volume using mobile devices wireless and at any time. The data can be carried with the user at all times and is directly available; long holding times for downloads from an online storage are therefore passé“, says Michael Föhrenbach, MD, brinell.
Compact design and powerful
With a dimension of 69x23x79 mm and a weight of 150 grams, the Private Cloud is compact, but it is packed with performance. The device is easy to use.
“The stick simply has to be plugged in and the data is made available via a wireless connection that has a range of up to 10 meters. Accessing the data works with any standard OS; for Android and iOS only a small free file explorer app is required,” explains Föhrenbach.
The Private Cloud’s wireless connection is encrypted with WPA2/PSK, high security standard for mobile networks. However, there is no need to forgo internet connection, because the device provides a function for parallel access to the Web. In addition, it is able to set up a DLNA database and therefore enables simple and fast data access via SMART-TV or media player- without complex configuration. By integrating the device into the home network, all devices have an access to the Private Cloud.
Private Cloud as a mobile charger
With its 5,200 mAh of power, the Li-Ion battery pack lives up to its name. For the Private Cloud, the battery life is a stately 10 hours. In addition, via the USB port the battery pack can also be used to charge smartphones and other devices.
“The brinell Private Cloud is an excellent supplement to our sophisticated USB sticks. With the detachable stick’s enormous amount of storage capacity, the power pack and the fast wireless connection, the device is a stylish companion for while on the go, but it is also the perfect fit for use at home,” says Föhrenbach.
