In addition to apps for iOS and Android, the Cortado Workplace web app has been revised for access via a browser. This offers ease-of-use for users and productivity functions for power users.
Users of cloud storage continue to face challenges managing their files saved online via mobile devices or desktops. The latest version of Cortado Workplace overcomes these challenges. Just as with local file management on their desktops, users benefit from device and cross-platform support of features, such as the drag and drop function, along with shortcuts. Frequently used folders can be marked as favorites for quick access. Additionally, features, such as simple and secure sharing of documents, renaming or moving files and printing to any printer on a wireless network, have all been enhanced.
Based on the feedback from numerous users, the company has revised the HTML5-based web app of its cloud storage service and tailored it to the look and feel of its iOS app. This design simplifies file management to an extent that even users completely unfamiliar with the app know how to use it. Folders with frequently used files can be marked as favorites, allowing rapid access. Another aspect is that folders can be copied via the drag-and-drop function to the user’s personalized cloud storage folders. Important documents are at the user’s disposal in the cloud even faster and can be viewed and edited with iPhones, iPads, Android devices, or any other device with a web browser.
Additionally, shortcuts similar to those seen in Windows, such as copy and paste, are available for faster management of online files. Last but not least, Cortado has increased its free cloud storage space to 10GB.
“With the new web app, Cortado shows once again how strongly we believe in consumerization by offering far more than just cloud storage. We provide a free, professional tool that includes key aspects of our paid enterprise solution, Cortado Corporate Server, for consumer use,” said Carsten Mickeleit, Cortado CEO. “This is just the beginning for users. In the coming months, Cortado will make groundbreaking changes to productivity – for both individual users as well as entire teams.“
The 10GB of storage is available instantly for new users and is being rolled out to existing users.
