DataCore Offers Free Virtual SAN Software
With availability of SANsymphony-V10, for storage experts
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on June 20, 2014 at 2:47 pmDataCore Software Corp. announced free non-production Virtual SAN software with the availability of its SANsymphony-V10 software, the company’s 10th generation storage services platform.
To help users evaluate the power of the Virtual SAN capabilities and educate themselves on the benefits of software-defined storage, the company is providing free access to a non-production use Virtual SAN software license.
The software is for personal self-education and training, home labs and for evaluation purposes. It is intended for technical specialists, virtualisation consultants, certified storage experts, instructors and architects evaluating technologies to manage and optimise existing and storage infrastructures.
Enterprise Virtual SAN Performance, Availability and Scaling
The SANsymphony-V10 Virtual SAN software can scale performance to more than 50 million IO/s and to 32PB of capacity across a cluster of 32 servers, making it one of a powerful and scalable systems.
The Virtual SAN is a software-only solution that automates and simplifies storage management and provisioning while delivering enterprise functionality, automated recovery and faster performance. It runs on new or existing x86 servers where it creates a shared storage pool out of the internal flash and disk storage resources available to that server. This means it can be deployed as an overlay, without the need to make major investments in new hardware or complex SAN gear.
They are a solution for clustered servers, VDI desktop deployments, remote DR and multi-site virtual server projects, as well as demanding database and business application workloads running on server platforms.
Grow Beyond Virtual SANs to Enterprise-Wide Software Defined Storage
SANsymphony-V10 provides a set of storage features and a growth path that expands the scope of the virtual SAN to non-disruptively incorporate external storage as part of an overall architecture. The company can function on the server-side as a virtual SAN, run and manage physical SANs, and operate and federate across both.
“We enable clients to get started and test drive a high performance, scale-up and scale-out virtual SAN at an appealing price, that takes full advantage of inexpensive servers and their internal drives,” said Paul Murphy, VP of WW marketing, DataCore. “By downloading our enterprise proven Virtual SAN software, you’ll be able to experience the DataCore advantage.“
