LaCie 2big Dual-Disk RAID

LaCie, S.A announced the availability of its dual-disk RAID solution – the LaCie 2big.

With Thunderbolt 2 technology, it delivers speeds of up to 420MB/s, which means zero lag for photographers and action-camera gurus who use Lightroom or Final Cut Pro.

Combined with up to 12TB of capacity, hardware RAID and industrial design, this makes it a powerhouse for productivity.

Instant Gratification
A common annoyance for creative professionals is lag caused by full or slow storage. This delivers enough bandwidth and capacity to ensure professionals can store large photo and video libraries while editing or applying filters to photos. They can then export photo libraries in half the time of single hard-disk solutions. Furthermore, GoPro users working with HD video files will experience a reduction in render times, allowing them to optimize workflow and publish videos faster.

Versatile Design
The company reengineered the 2big to optimiz dual-disk storage devices. It features front-loading disks, disk status LEDs, near-silent heat dissipation, a secret door for cable management, and hardware RAID protection-all enclosed in a Neil Poulton design.

It ships with Thunderbolt 2 and USB 3.0. This means it gets the best possible speeds on any late-model PC or Mac computer. And, USB 3.0 backward compatibility means that users can connect it to any standard computer.

It is available in 6, 8 or 12TB capacities through LaCie resellers at €549, €749 and €949 VAT included respectively.
