Gulf Air Signed 3-Year Deal With EMC
To meet national carrier's IT storage requirements

Commenting on the agreement, Gulf Air Acting CEO Maher Salman Al Musallam said: “We are pleased to extend our partnership with EMC to meet the national carrier’s IT storage requirements. Our longstanding relationship with EMC dates back to 2009 when EMC became the primary storage infrastructure provider and one of the major components in Gulf Air Private Cloud. As a global leader in their field, we are delighted to expand our relationship with EMC to further support the airline’s IT function.“
Gulf Air director IT, Dr Jassim Haji commented: “Gulf Air implemented private cloud computing in 2010 which led to the airline realizing faster and more efficient business performance and thereby enhanced customer service. EMC is a key enabler in supporting our cloud computing efforts and we are delighted to work with them in this regard“

Gulf Air has been at the forefront of introducing several innovations and improvements in its IT operations including the recent introduction of private cloud computing. The airline also adopts several ‘green’ solutions in its IT infrastructure and practices including last year’s launch of its energy efficient data centre at the airline’s HQs that is one of the most environmentally friendly IT centers in the Kingdom.
