Paul Emery SVP Engineering, Coraid

And two promotions: Nakul Saraiya CTO, Gokul Sathiacama VP product management

Coraid, Inc. announced several additions to its executive team. Coraid announced the hiring of former Marin Software and Oracle executive Paul Emery as SVP of engineering.

The company also announced the internal promotions of Nakul Saraiya to CTO and Gokul Sathiacama to VP of product management. The hiring and promotions were made to support the expansion of the company’s business throughout the first half of the year.

The company sustained customer momentum by creating partnerships with RackForce Networks, Inc., Canada’s largest enterprise cloud provider; Clearview, a managed cloud service provider; and Zettagrid, one of Australia’s largest IaaS providers.

Paul Emery has more than 22 years of global software engineering and technology management experience in the enterprise software and financial service industries. He was formerly with Marin Software; he scaled the company’s engineering organization leading up to the company’s IPO in 2013. Previously, he held senior engineering positions at several companies, including VP server technologies at Oracle, where he led the product development effort for Oracle WebCenter, and VP of engineering at Vignette, where he led the effort to integrate products from several of Vignette’s strategic acquisitions. He holds an AB degree in physics from Harvard.

Nakul Saraiya brings more than 25 years of experience in data center solutions, including servers, orchestration, virtualization, networking and storage products. Prior to joining Coraid, he was the CEO of Yunteq, a cloud orchestration company acquired by Coraid in 2011. Saraiya has provided leadership and engineering management in the development of many technologies. He has also been listed as a co-inventor on 23 issued patents. Earlier, he co-founded Fabric7 Systems, which developed the world’s first hardware-partitionable x64 servers with virtualized fabric-based I/O and integrated L4-7 services. He holds an M.S. in Computer Science (AI) from Stanford University and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University.

Sathiacama,coraid Gokul Sathiacama is a technology business leader, with more than 16 years of storage-industry product management experience. Before joining Coraid, he was senior director of product management at Oracle‘s storage product group. He has also held various management and engineering roles in the network storage and Java groups at Sun Microsystems, Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Southern California and an MBA degree from Pepperdine University.
