SSD Servers With 11GB/s Per U Performance Density

From Echostreams

Echostreams Innovative Solutions, LLC, a U.S. based OEM/ODM server and storage solutions provider (being at Computex Taipei) announced the availability of a family of patented high performance SSD flash servers, FlacheStreams, capable of sustaining 11GB/s in sequential read in 1U with 20x SSDs – FlacheSAN1L, and 22GB/s in a 2U server with 48x SSDs – FlacheSAN2.

For digital content streaming, up to nine uncompressed 4K HD video streams can be supported concurrently; or for online transactional database applications, 1.56 million IO/s can be sustained.

FlacheSAN servers come equipped with the Adaptec Series 8 12Gb SAS controllers. FlacheSAN2 consumes no more than 450W of power at the maximum performance level, making it an energy-efficient solution. The patented tool-less SSD tray design reduces the integration time, which further reduces the operational cost for the solution providers.

Designed specifically for the standard 2.5″ form factor 7-mm thick SSDs, the FlacheSAN systems can support twice the density of conventional general-purpose servers, maximizing the utilization of the available I/O bandwidths offered by the latest server technologies.

FlacheSAN2 can support up to 9 usable PCIe add-in card slots, which can support up to 3x Adaptec 16-port SAS controllers for point-to-point connection to the SSDs, plus up to 22x8Gb FC ports or 5xFDR IB ports for optimized performance.

FlacheSAN1L can support two Adaptec controllers and up to 4x40GbE ports. Both platforms are for datacenters, covering usage models from IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), cloud cache, digital content streaming, as well as VDIs for enterprises and small-medium-businesses.

Our patented FlacheSAN high-performance SSD flash server platforms equipped with the latest Adaptec Series-8 12Gb SAS controllers offer our OEM customers unmatched performance and values,” says Gene Lee, president and CEO, Echostreams. “We have not only reduced the CapEx but also the OpEx in very innovative ways.”
