VPLS Solutions With Replication-as-a-Service Based on Nimble Solutions

VPLS Solutions, a reseller of Nimble Storage solutions, has launched a Replication-as-a-Service offering based on Nimble Storage, Inc.‘s platform.

Nimble Storage is a provider of flash-optimized hybrid storage solutions with built-in data protection capabilities, including replication.

It has developed a flash storage solution engineered to address an issue: delivering better performance and capacity at a reasonable price; providing integrated protection with backup and recovery; and, reining in storage complexity. The company’s products are based on its patented Cache Accelerated Sequential Layout (CASL) hybrid storage architecture that leverages read performance of flash and the capacity of HDD drives. Nimble combines this flash-optimized architecture with InfoSight, a cloud based management service that delivers predictive support and operational simplicity through deep data analytics.

VPLS Solutions has had success selling Nimble Storage to customers nationwide. By investing in redundant Nimble Storage arrays and deploying them in VPLS’s Tier 3+ data centers in El Segundo, CA and Sacramento, CA, the company is offering replication services for a monthly fee. This provides clients with a DR option, without the capital investment required to build out a data center.
