Curtis Ryan VP Sales, IntelliMagic

IntelliMagic, Inc. announced personnel additions to its team as a result of its continued success acquiring new customers of IntelliMagic Vision, the proactive and predictive Storage Performance Management (SPM) solution.      

 Curtis Ryan has joined IntelliMagic as VP sales. He brings over 18 years of sales leadership experience and an understanding of how to deliver business value to customers through innovative technology solutions.

In his new role at IntelliMagic, he will be responsible for creating and implementing sales strategies to help our customers understand and realize value from our solutions, through both direct and partner sales models.

“Curtis’ ability to understand technology and its application to the real-world problems our customers are wrestling with, as well as how to deliver those solutions, make him a natural fit for this position,” said Brent Phillips, MD of the Americas, IntelliMagic. “His values and process orientation are consistent with what has allowed IntelliMagic to be selected by some of the largest IT shops in North America for their Storage Performance Management requirements.“

Ryan joins IntelliMagic from IBM, where he was director of industry solutions software sales responsible for Midwest US sales. Previously Ryan held multiple worldwide and North America sales leader positions and specialized in launching growth initiatives/start-up businesses within IBM. He also spent time working in the office of the GM of software sales where he supported all aspects of leading the $20 billion, 20,000 person IBM software group sales organization. Prior his leadership roles in software group, he was an associate partner in IBM Global Services where he managed a consulting practice focused on customer and employee web experiences which delivered high value, ROI technology strategies and solution implementations.

Paulus Usong joins IntelliMagic as a storage performance consultant after working for IBM for over 30 years. He comes to IntelliMagic as a long time user of RMF Magic for the IBM Advanced Technical Support (ATS) team focused on the Americas region. His background at IBM includes providing post-sales and pre-sales technical support for z/OS customers as well as performing specialized studies such as zHPF analysis. Additionally, he co-authored Redbooks on the topic of DS8000 performance and tuning and easy tier.

His primary focus at IntelliMagic is to leverage his deep I/O performance expertise on behalf of IntelliMagic customers – both SaaS customers and customers who license and install IntellMagic software directly.
