Mohawk Industries Implements Email Archiving With Mimecast
Alongside Microsoft Office 365
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 8, 2014 at 2:42 pmFlooring manufacturer Mohawk Industries, Inc. has implemented Mimecast Services Ltd‘s cloud-based Unified Email Management solution alongside Microsoft Office 365, to replace an on-premises archiving solution and anti-spam/anti-virus appliance.
According to Mohawk, the move to Mimecast has saved infrastructure cost, delivered time savings, streamlined email efficiency, improved its anti-spam/anti-virus strategy, and reduced storage requirements by 25%.
With more than 10,000 mailboxes worldwide, Mohawk was quickly outgrowing its email infrastructure. Before moving to Mimecast, weekly backups took seven days to complete – and often failed, resulting in data loss – with some volumes growing to 10TB. In addition, spam levels were rising, and upgrades had to be made on-site, which was a costly and time consuming process.
“We rely on email for everything, from internal communications to customer communications. We were at a point where we needed a safety net in place to ensure continuity,” said Colby Grueber, infrastructure director, Mohawk. “With Mimecast, we’ve been able to streamline all processes for greater efficiency and time savings overall. We’ve even been able to eliminate our need for backups thanks to the Mimecast integration with Microsoft Office 365.”
Mohawk receives frequent data requests for litigation purposes, and with its prior solution, finding and retrieving email from the system was a manual search and recover process that sometimes took days.
“Today, with Mimecast automated search capabilities, we can find what we need in less than an hur in most cases. It’s at least ten times faster than the process we relied on before, and more accurate,” said Grueber.
