Panzura Doubles Architectural, Engineering and Construction Customer Sites in One Quarter
With locking file systems
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 7, 2014 at 2:57 pmAs a solution that solves cross-site collaboration issues of applications like Revit, AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Bentley MicroStation, Panzura, Inc., provider of locking file systems, reports exponential growth in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) market, doubling its AEC customer sites in one quarter alone.
This growth builds upon the recent announcement of Panzura’s 1,200% quarter over quarter growth in AEC revenue last quarter, as well as the percentage of AEC revenue increasing from 13% to 60% of Panzura’s total revenue quarter over quarter.
Some of Panzura’s newest customers include Ridley and Co, Nelson, HGA, Microdesk, Dowco, Hassell, Fuscoe, VOA, Delta Engineers, MSA Professional Services, FST, OHM, Wright-Pierce, Hanson, Dahlin, PS&S, Kleinschmidt, SDL, Woodard & Curran, Pape-Dawson Engineers, DeSimone, Reynolds, Smith & Hill, and Ryan and Companies. In addition, existing customers like Audubon, exp, BWSC and Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp expanded Panzura deployments.
“Building Information Modeling (BIM) is revolutionizing the AEC Industry, leading to an industry-wide surge in BIM adoption from 28% in 2007 to 71% in 2012,” said Randy Chou, co-founder and CEO, Panzura. “Our patented global file locking technology is the only real way for distributed project teams to collaborate on the same BIM model. Because of this, we are seeing dramatic AEC industry growth and incredible number of new customer wins. Panzura has emerged as the preferred way to enable AEC companies to collaborate and innovate in the way they design, architect, and build everything.”
Patented File Locking Reduces Global Application Sync Time
Panzura’s patented global file locking technology is a solution that solves the cross-site BIM collaboration issues that have nagged the AEC industry for years, and has become crucial for internal and external collaboration needs with AEC applications. This file locking capability reduces application sync time of users in distributed sites from 20mn to 10s, enabling all users to work as if they were in the same room. Panzura’s ability to solve this AEC pain point is protected by numerous patents, including Global Deduplication File System, Efficient cloud NAS and Forwarding File-system-Level Information to a Storage Management System.
Growth Stems from AEC Record ROI
Panzura’s dominance in the AEC market is due to customer satisfaction, measurable ROI and increased productivity for these distributed AEC companies. Its global file locking, deduplication and compression systems enable globally distributed users of AEC applications to access and share huge files from the cloud with the same speed as if they were stored locally.
“It is essential for our business to be able to collaborate across sites for projects,” said Eric Quinn, IT manager, C&S Companies. “Our remote teams were hindered due to difficulties accessing the complex project data files from apps such as Revit, AutoCAD and Civil3D. We tried multiple products but were unable to find a solution that worked, until Panzura. Panzura was the only solution that made it possible for our workers to access and share these complex data files from any location, resulting in a dramatic increase in productivity and efficiency.”
