Violin With Flash Acceleration Option for SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise and IQ

Violin Memory, Inc. announced an enterprise-grade solution for SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise (SAP ASE) and SAP IQ software.

Violin 6000 flash memory arrays can deliver more than 10 times the performance acceleration and up to 90% reduction in operating expenses over legacy disk-based architectures and environments. Theys are certified for interoperability with SAP ASE. During preliminary internal testing, SAP saw 10x improvement in the performance of SAP ASE running on Violin Flash Memory.

The Flash Acceleration Option is now available for SAP ASE and SAP IQ workloads utilizing flash arrays.

The Flash Acceleration Option delivers an optimized configuration in support of SAP ASE and SAP IQ as well as priority support for users. Customers that move database workloads onto platforms equipped with Violin storage may achieve 10 times application acceleration with a reduction of over 60% in power, cooling and space consumption, as well as a decrease in storage footprint of up to 90% (In relation to legacy disk-based storage and the necessary power and maintenance required when compared to solid-state flash storage.)
