Bitcasa Partners With Huawei, Samsung and Telefónica
To solve storage needs for phones, tablets and laptops
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 2, 2014 at 2:41 pmBitcasa, Inc. announced partnerships with telecommunication and mobile device companies Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd, Samsung Electronics Co Ltd and Telefonica.
The three companies are launching devices pre-loaded with Bitcasa to enable their customers to better manage and access their digital belongings without worrying about running out of space or losing their favorite videos, music or photos.
The following devices are now pre-loaded with Bitcasa: Huawei Ascend G6, Y330 and Y530 phones; Samsung ATIV laptops and tablets; and, Telefonica will also pre-load Bitcasa on their upcoming Firefox OS Phones.
A recent Nielsen report found that not only does the average American own four devices, but consumers are embracing opportunities to access content whenever and wherever they want. Today’s consumer expects to be able to store and access their digital belongings on all of their devices. Simultaneously, storage needs are increasing and Gartner predicts that worldwide consumer digital storage needs will grow from 32 EBs in 2011 to 4.1ZB in 2016. By partnering with telecommunication companies, Bitcasa is solving the capacity challenge, and making content accessible across devices.
“In the cloud era, consumers want their digital content to be as safe as their money in the bank,” said Brian Taptich, CEO, Bitcasa. “With customers currently in more than 140 countries, we have seen substantial demand for our highly secure yet very accessible cloud storage platform. Through these global partnerships, we are able to help telecommunications companies provide their customers with secure, frustration-free storage, and instantly add value to handsets through additional storage capacity.“
Bitcasa Benefits:
- Data is private: With client-side encryption, files are encrypted before they leave the computer, meaning only the user can see their content.
- Store once, access anywhere: Bitcasa can stream any movie or show any photo album via any device. It also enables users to share files no matter the size.
- Never run out of space: Rather than ‘sync’ files between computers, Bitcasa is a virtual HDD that lets users move files to the cloud and free up space for apps & games.
- Effortless auto-backup: Auto-backup phone photos or right-click to ‘mirror’ any folder on the desktop for real-time, automatic backup.
Bitcasa presented at the Silicon Valley Telecom Council Service Innovation Forum on April 25 on how mobile and ISP can benefit from the Bitcasa platform.
