Cardwave mSATA SSD Modules for Embedded Mobile Applications

Cardwave Services Ltd, an UK independent supplier of embedded flash memory, has added a range of mSATA modules to its product line.

The new range of industrial grade mSATA modules are designed for space constrained mission-critical embedded applications such as automotive computers and UAVs.

With capacities ranging from 4GB to 128GB the reliable modules will plug into any mini PCIe connector with a modified SATA pinout providing additional storage or to be used to host and run application software and OS.

For mobile applications, mSATA is designed in accordance with the JEDEC mechanical specification MO-300A. Initially intended for netbooks and other portable electronic devices this standard defines the socket and mounting holes enabling the module to be securely fixed to a carrier board or single board computer. This makes it resilient to in service shock and vibration and can be deployed in many rugged mobile applications.
