Enhanced Data Solutions Assigned Patent

First-side dual-layer optical storage disc

Enhanced Data Solutions LLC, Longmont, CO, has been assigned a patent (8,685,621) developed by three co-inventors for “first-side dual-layer optical storage disk and method of manufacturing the same.”

The co-inventors are Brian Medower, David Davies, Boulder, CO, and Ian Redmond, Fife, Scotland.

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: “An optical data storage disk includes a central substrate and on each side of the substrate a pair of metal/alloy recording layers separated by a transparent layer.”

The patent application was filed on May 6, 2008 (12/116,161).
