TwinStrata, Inc. announced that its CloudArray cloud-integrated software is driving Plug Power‘s modernized storage environment, resulting in simplified management and improved DR.

CloudArray has replaced Plug Power’s traditional tape library and existing SAN (SAN) with a physical appliance for local capacity backed by unlimited cloud storage. The new CloudArray appliance addresses the company’s storage requirements, serving as a primary file share for its unstructured data, a repository for enterprise resource planning (ERP) data and a target for its backup data.

As a result, the company expects to decrease its data recovery time by approximately 90%t, has automated its backup processes and is provided stronger offsite data protection through cloud replication.

TwinStrata finds that customers rely on traditional, but often inefficient, tape backup systems. When organizations need to recover backups stored offsite, it can take 4-5 days to identify the tape, recover it, catalog it, read it and then restore the data.
