KeepItSafe Enters Canadian Market

KeepItSafe, provider of online backup services and brand of j2 Global, Inc., has launched KeepItSafe Canada, provider of cloud backup services to Canadian businesses.

Although the name KeepItSafe is new to Canada, the company’s heritage, personnel and expertise represent more than a decade of Canadian-based experience protecting businesses’ data in the cloud.

KeepItSafe Canada is the result of acquisitions of the online backup businesses of some of the country’s service providers, including e-ternity BC Consultants Inc. and IQ Storage, Inc. in Eastern Canada, and Western Canada’s ebackup, Inc.

As expected, data residency and security are of paramount concern to customers when it comes to online backup. Due to KeepItSafe Canada’s bicoastal infrastructure and data centres in Toronto and Vancouver, all of the data under the company’s cloud backup and protection will be redundant between both data centres and is guaranteed to remain within the country.

How KeepItSafe’s online backup works
KeepItSafe Canada installs backup software onsite at the customer premises and, at scheduled intervals, encrypts and securely transmits the data to a KeepItSafe secure facility. The data is also mirrored to a second centre – so client data will be securely stored in Toronto and Vancouver. In the event of data loss or corruption at a client site, the client can instantly access all of their data online with the assistance of the KeepItSafe technical support team. KeepItSafe also offers DR solutions, ensuring that even after a catastrophic data loss, a client can access all data almost immediately; anywhere they have an Internet connection.

Reseller program launching soon
KeepItSafe Canada will roll out an enhanced partner program for Canadian IT resellers and MSPs in May of this year. The goal is to introduce the country’s best channel partner support for online backup services to ensure partners have the highest probability of success.
