Backupify to Support 12 Additional Cloud Applications by Year End
Including Box, NetSuite, Zendesk, Egnyte, Dropbox
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 9, 2014 at 2:28 pmBackupify, Inc., in cloud-to-cloud backup and recovery solutions for SaaS applications, will increase the number of enterprise cloud applications it supports this year.
Cloud applications slated for release in 2014 include Box, Dropbox, NetSuite, GitHub, Zendesk, Concur, ServiceNow, JIRA, Asana, Egnyte, Office 365, and Basecamp.
The additional cloud applications will join Google Apps, Salesforce.com, PipelineDeals, and Smartsheet on a consolidated Backupify platform designed to securely protect data in the cloud. Companies will be able to log-in to a single platform in order to backup and manage the data they store across multiple SaaS applications.
According to a February 2014 Forrester Research, Inc. report Backup Your Critical Cloud Data Before It’s Too Late by Rachel Dines, “SaaS is an increasingly popular method of deploying new services, but many organizations don’t realize that they could be at risk of losing critical data. Many SaaS providers will not restore lost data for users or will only do so for an exorbitant fee.” The report went on to say: “As more critical data is deployed in the cloud, it’s time for infrastructure and operations leaders to be proactive and invest in mitigating these risks instead of waiting for data loss to occur.“
Backupify’s enterprise-grade platform will help accelerate the number of cloud applications supported. With a set of open APIs anyone can create a backup for a cloud application.
“We know companies are rapidly moving to the cloud and migrating critical company information into cloud applications,” said Rob May, CEO, Backupify. “With that exponential growth, customers are increasingly thinking less in terms of any one single application – they want a ‘single pane of glass’ in order to more efficiently and effectively protect all their data across a growing number of different applications. We’re responding to our customer’s needs by taking a more integrated approach to managing their data.“
“As a Backupify customer, we backup the data in both our Google Apps and Salesforce.com accounts,” said Ed Quinn, IT manager, Mevion Medical Systems, Inc. “Since we use quite a few cloud applications, we’re thrilled with Backupify’s broader vision. The company’s emphasis on security best practices as well as their overall innovation means we’ve found a cloud-to-cloud backup vendor we can trust and partner with.“
