Rausch Netzwerktechnik Presents New Storage Architecture
With Seagate Kinetic and Scality Ring
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 7, 2014 at 2:53 pmGerman IT service provider Rausch Netzwerktechnik GmbH presents innovations for hosting-, data center- and business-clients live at at World Hosting Days 2014.
BigFoot Storage Object
You don’t need CPUs, mainboards and controllers anymore, because now you gain from higher packing density in less space with BigFoot Storage Object. Rausch Netzwerktechnik GmbH offers a storage platform with 72 HDDs featuring two 1GbE interfaces in each HDD. For this solution Rausch is working together with Seagate Technology: the chassis designed around the Seagate Kinetic Open Storage Platform that reduces the cost and complexity of object storage platforms by reducing a tier of physical storage servers and protocol conversions. The new solution offer scale-out cloud storage customers improved capacity and scalability, while reducing overall costs.
BigFoot Storage XXCold
Whether for long-term archiving, in libraries or in businesses: data accessed extremely rarely can now be given their own special place in the data center thanks to cold storage BigFoot Storage XXCold. 288TB bundled in 4U give all the options for storing huge volumes of data economically. The system will switch off automatically after a set time but is available again ins when needed.
BigFoot Storage XXFast
BigFoot Storage XXFast can be deployed as fail-safe shared storage for VMs, as flexible cloud storage and also in the field of HPC. The 96 x 2.5″ HDDs in 4U, the 12 Gb SAS architecture and up to four additional SSDs as cache are what makes this possible. Speed is optimally combined with a packing density of up to 192TB.
BigFoot Storage XXLarge
Warehouse stacking of necessary storage systems is expensive? BigFoot Storage XXLargeh sets an end to this. The solution can be used as cloud storage as well as for a database, enterprise and near-line storage. Furthermore the usage of BigFoot Storage XXLarge for VTL, medical imaging and for digital content delivery is possible. Every unit includes 4U, 48 HDDs and up to 288TB storage.
Tormenta MegaCore Blade System
With the Tormenta MegaCore Blade System, Rausch is going one step further: 160 cores, 640GB RAM and 80TB HDD in 2U are the performance values of the blade system, which is supplied with the latest Intel 8-core server CPUs. Each module comes fully equipped as well: two 2,5″ drive bays, ECC RAM, VGA-, USB-, serial-, IPMI- and two 1GbE are supplied as standard.
