Sans Digital, Inc. announced its 12Gb SAS expander storage enclosure and 12Gb RAID card combo.

Offering speeds of over 3,000MB/s in applications and performance tests, the EliteSTOR 12G SAS rackmounts includes the SAS 2U 8-bay (ES208X12), 2U 12-bay (ES212X12), 3U 16-bay (ES316X12), and 4U 24-bay (ES424X12) are available with or without a bundled 12G PCIe 3.0 x8 RAID card.

Guaranteed to double the performances of existing 6Gb SAS enclosures, it is sure to support data extensive applications such as high-definition 1,080p, 2K, and 4K editing or broadcasting as well as other data extensive applications for enterprise IT environments in data expansion and backup.

Utilizing the latest 12Gb SAS expander technology, it provides as much as 48Gb/s or 4,800MB/s of data bandwidth to fulfill applications. Depending on which model enclosures you choose, you can use from 8 and up to 24 SAS or SATA drives using single HD mini-SAS (SFF-8644) cable. A built-in SAS expansion port enables the system to connect up to 256 HDD drives daisy-chained together. With a high performance 12G RAID controller card, it is capable of delivering over in 3,000MB/s in read and write performance, doubling the existing 6Gb SAS expander bandwidth. System status information is provided by the LED, including HDDs, power supply and cooling fan status. All necessary hardware comes standard including mini-SAS cable, HDDs tray modules and built-in mounting rail. The bundled options of 12Gb RAID controller card is based on PCIe 3.0 x8, with dedicated 1.2 Dual Core RAID processor and DDR-3 ECC 1833 2GB memory. Complex RAID calculation is offload to the RAID controller to provide performance. Supported in Windows, Mac and Linux, along with virtual platform of Hyper-V and VMware, the end to end solution can fit performance hungry IT application or video production environment.
