Target Technology Company, LLC, Irvine, CA, has been assigned a patent (8,632,869) developed by Han Nee, Newport Coast, CA, for “metal alloys for the reflective or the semi-reflective layer of an optical storage medium.”

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: “A silver-based magnesium alloy thin film is provided for the semi-reflective coating layer of optical discs. This alloy has moderate to high reflectivity and reasonable corrosion resistance in the ambient environment.”

The patent application was filed on April 27, 2012 (13/506,548).
