Demartek Evaluates Dell Dual PERC RAID Controller HA System Built on LSI RoC

Demartek LLC, a computer industry analyst firm with its own computer test lab, has evaluated a Dell dual-PowerEdge Expandable RAID controller HA system.

Three Jetstress tests were performed with the following results:

“HA configurations are becoming increasingly important, especially in virtualized environments,” said Dennis Martin, Demartek president. “We deployed dual Dell PERC H710P controllers with a split backplane in a Dell PowerEdge R820 server to compare performance of the system under various failure conditions. We found that a mirrored backplane configuration was an effective way to provide HA with equal or better performance than a single, un-mirrored backplane configuration.”
