Catalogic Software Supports New NetApp FAS8000

Reducing backup time "by 90%"

Catalogic Software, Inc., in data protection management solutions, announced its support for the new NetApp FAS8000 unified scale-out storage systems, new NetApp FlexArray virtualization software, and the latest release of clustered Data ONTAP to help joint customers accelerate their move from legacy to cloud environments.

Catalogic Software’s technology will complement NetApp’s new solutions to consolidate storage hardware and data protection on a common infrastructure, and further expand performance and manageability in customers’ on-premise and cloud deployments.

Catalogic Software’s approach to optimizing data protection management delivers complete data protection. The software reduces backup times by 90% and enables data restores within minutes for midsize enterprises. Customers gain huge performance improvements in backup and restores and better visibility into their organization’s data through enterprise cataloging and optimizing their primary and copy data management.

TheFAS8000 series unifies SAN, NAS and storage virtualization into a single hybrid array. It is NetApp’s first FAS platform designed specifically for scale-out storage environments built on clustered Data ONTAP. With FlexArray virtualization software, NetApp V-Series functionality becomes a software option that can be licensed on the FAS8000.

FlexArray enables the FAS8000 to virtualize and manage multi-vendor storage platforms. The latest release of clustered Data ONTAP extends non-disruptive operations (NDO) and improves data security and management of NAS and SAN environments.
