Toshiba Client SSDs With A19nm MLC NAND in Several Form Factors
60GB to 512GB, maximum R/W speed at 534/482MB/s
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 25, 2014 at 3:00 pmToshiba Electronics Europe (TEE) announced the next-generation of its HG series of high performance SSDs for use in notebooks, workstations, read intensive enterprise applications and as server boot drives.
The HG6 drives are the first mainstream drives to take advantage of company’s Advanced 19nm (A19nm) toggle 2.0 MLC NAND, which delivers advances in performance and power efficiency.
HG6 series SSDs are available in capacities ranging from 60GB to 512GB and boast maximum sequential read speeds of 534MB/s and maximum sequential write speeds of 482MB/s. The drives accelerate computer boot times and application start times.
The HG6 series is efficient, consuming less energy than previous generations and help improve the battery life of mobile devices. The drives are available in form factors, including space saving mSATA, M.2 and in standard 2.5-inch (64mm) widths with heights of 7mm and 9.5mm.
The drives are fitted with a 6Gb SATA 3.1 interface and include Adaptive Size SLC Write cache technology and optional Self Encrypting feature compliant to TCG-Opal 2.0. All HG6 SSDs incorporate Toshiba’s Quadruple Swing-By Code (QSBC) for improved error correction and reliability.
