Peter Danzig and Mohan Srinivasan, Board’s Advisors, Arkologic

Both worked at NetApp.

Arkologic Corporation has appointed three industry luminaries to its technology advisory board.

The board assists the company in defining product direction and technology strategy in order to better address both new and existing markets.

The new board members are:

Srinivasan arkologic Mohan Srinivasan, member of technical staff at Facebook, led Facebook’s early adoption of flash as a storage tier, and was also responsible for developing the caching software and other components that help Facebook scale to meet its growing user base. Prior to joining Facebook, he was a kernel engineer at Yahoo where he worked on both networking and storage, making contributions to the FreeBSD OS. Before Yahoo, held engineering positions at NetApp where he worked on NFS, TCP/IP, RAID and NetApp’s WAFL file system, in addition to delivering the firs block-based product. He started his career as a kernel engineer at Sun Microsystems and holds several patents in storage.

danzig Arkologic Peter Danzig is an investor, technologist, academic and coach. Most recently he was co-founder and CSO of Virtuata, a security start-up that was acquired by Cisco. His career includes being the VP of technology, Akamai, and CTO and chief architect of the NetCache division of NetApp. He has advised a number of start-ups, most notably IronPort and Peribit, that were acquired by Cisco and Juniper respectively. Hiq career extends into academia including his appointment in 1990 as an assistant professor of computer science at the University of Southern California. He received his B.S. in applied physics in 1982 from the University of California Davis, and his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of California Berkeley.

arkologic,iyer  Giri Iyer is a customer support guru. With over 20 years experience in customer support for a range of technology companies, he has built numerous high performance support organizations around the world. Prior to his current role as VP of customer support, Ruckus Wireless, he was VP of global customer advocacy, Infoblox, where he spearheaded the technical support and training operations team. He has held senior management positions at growing companies including Alteon WebSystems and Auspex. He holds a Bachelors Degree in computer science from Columbia University and a Masters in computer science from Cal State Chico.
